A FEW THINGS WE’RE GREAT AT
Why our service is the best We are a client focused firm of experienced solicitors and we take time to understand your case so that we can offer you a bespoke legal service at affordable rates.
CLIENT FOCUSED
We are guided by the cardinal rule of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), to always act in the best interests of our clients. Our primary goal is to advise at the first point of contact the merits or otherwise of the client’s case. Hence our first interview is primarily designed to enable us to get to know our clients. Confidentiality and Data Protection are the hallmarks of our practice and this is evident in the manner we deal with our clients.
EXPERIENCED TEAM
We have got an experienced team with diverse backgrounds. Our team is therefore able to empathise with client’s issues but without being emotionally attached. We are thus able to objectively assess the issues at hand and take clients through the resolution process. Because of the nature of the experience we have, we are able to carry out merits assessments for clients’ matters so that we only proceed with matters that have got a realistic prospects of success. In this manner we are able to save clients financial loss which could result from pursuing non-meritorious cases. In the unlikely event that we are unable to deal with a particular case we can sign post as appropriate.
BESPOKE LEGAL SERVICES
Our Services are tailor made to suit individual client needs. We do not have a, “one size fits”, all policy. This allows us to treat all clients with respect in their individual manner and circumstances. The fact that we are not such a big firm allows us to have more time to listen to and research our clients’ needs so that the advice we give properly relates to that particular issue. Each client is allocated a dedicated case worker who can be contacted at most of time for updates and further instructions. In this manner clients would not be unduly stressed as they can always be guided as and when they need to.
AFFORDABLE RATES
Where applicable, as in immigration and asylum matters legal aid may be available to qualifying clients. However where clients do not qualify for same and also in areas where legal aid is not available we operate on a fixed fees basis. This allows us to agree with the client before work is done how much it would cost to have the issue resolved and what the fee will exactly cover. This avoids client being hit with hidden bills. Our fixed fees are reasonable and affordable as we can agree on payment terms. So clients should feel free to engage us in the comfort of the transparency of our fees, costs structure and affordability.
CASE STUDY - Deportation of a foreign criminal.
THE CASE
This case involved a non-British national who was imprisoned for more than 12 months. On completion of his sentence he was served with a deportation order and thus remained in prison pending deportation.
OUR WORK
We were instructed to apply for bail and to challenge the deportation order. Client was in a relationship with a British citizen with whom he had a British minor child. However client’s indefinite leave to remain had been curtailed due to his criminal activities.
THE OUTCOME
We were able to successfully apply for his bail pending the deportation challenge. We were also able to challenge the deportation order on the basis that his removal would be disproportionate in the circumstances as this engaged the UK’s obligation under the ECHR and also the immigration rules. There was clear evidence that client played a meaningful role in the upbringing and general welfare of the child. Client remains in the UK.
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Don’t take our word for it – here’s what our clients say:
“I had a difficult matrimonial case that involved two jurisdictions, Zimbabwe and the UK. CB Solicitors helped me navigate the law. Today I look back and wonder how I could have had the peace of mind I am enjoying now if I had not engaged them. The proprietary consequences of divorce were dealt with and addressed in a professional manner. For those with matrimonial issues whether in the UK or in Zimbabwe I would recommend engaging CB Solicitors as they have a network of Legal Practitioners in Zimbabwe they work with.”
